...my personal conclusion...

PREVENTION is the keyword even so it does not match to contest request

Description

Let me sum up! The request of this contest is... „Allianz aims to develop a NEW and EFFECTIVE FIRE DEVICE that would be CHEAP TO INSTALL and would REQUIRE LITTLE TO NO MAINTANANCE...for medium sized Textile Enterprises“. Question is, what is meant with „cheap“ and „little to no maintenance“? That depends on how you look on it and which budget is available. By reflecting on that, all in common device (detection, activation and fighting) that fulfills all these requests, especially „cheap“ is in my opinion nearly not achievable. Devices mounted on robots or drones need to be controlled. Cameras are for me a detection device, that can activate a fighting device by control system. Therefore one needs an interconnected system which needs maintenance and which costs a lot. And, it can fail. For me, especially human is an individual effective detector, activator and fighter against fire, when he has an effective fighting device ready to hand. But UNTRAINED human is a weak point in this chain. These insights let me come back to my first submission which I deleted because it is, according to contest description, not in the focus of the contest. For me, despite all, PREVENTION is the keyword! So first of all PREVENTION MEASURES need to be installed. -Safety Training -Cleanness at working places -Risk Analysis -Emergency Plan So risk is reduced. Fighting devices cover remaining risk. That is cost effective! No maintenance is needed! It helps to save lives! It saves equipment! It is cheap to implement! It is scalable! In added PDF I have tried to point that out! So, thank you for that contest! It was good experience to be part of it!
