Cloud in Fire

Stop the propagation of fire (embers) in the textile environment by making artificial cloud inside the facility

Description

In textile industry, we consider that the class of fire hazard is under "class A" -Combustible materials (wood, paper, fabric, refuse). When the fire starts, small burning fabric materials scatter (embers) and affects other textiles that will easily propagate fire all around the facility. To solve this problem, I imagined a device that is • low-cost, • portable, • effective, • scalable, • direct, • fast response /first res-ponder, • can install without water pipes, • and with almost no maintenance needed. I called this as "water atomizer", this idea is not new as the component I adopted was came from the spray nozzle from fuel spray of an aircraft, as I am an aeronautical engineering student. This device also uses compressed air as its "battery / energy storage", in which compressed air is released to push water upwards to the spray nozzle. My water atomizer device is triggered manually by any person nearby, trigger pin is removed and it automatically sprays atomized water droplets that mimics the characteristic of cloud/mist. Mist provides safety from electrical shock and keeping textile equipment safe. The device's design is scalable in size, can be spread everywhere and only maintained by refilling purified water and replacement of compressed air can inside. One of the advantages of this device is that it uses 70% less water than sprinkler and be used as supplementary in existing fire systems or first res-ponder in the most lowest manufacturing and operational cost as possible. Additionally, any SME's can also upgrade to modify this by adding electronics & sensors or making automatic if they wanted to, for example: when one water atomizer has been triggered manually / automatically, all of the nearby atomizers will also automatically spray cloud of water particles preventing the spread of small burning materials (embers) around them.
