My idea proposes for a low cost zero maintenance hanging rotating fire extinguisher with aesthetics of a led powered light with power backup. The Flying saucer tornado is activated when it detects fire or smoke, the $125 version of it with 12 kg of extinguishing supply is good enough to cover the entire room, this will also include a Curved LED light with 3 hour power backup, which will provide light in case of power failure for normal operation or during fire. In the event of fire the sensors detect the smoke & fire and the flying tornado saucer start rotating in circles due to the placement of the saucer nozzles initially covering the center of the room and extending towards the periphery of the room and hence covering the entire room, there are nozzles placed downward also to extinguish flames directly below it. I believe such a solution will provide a cost effective zero maintenance solution to the fire fighting problem. The whole setup is strongly secured using metal cables so there is no risk of this dropping, imagine how a ceiling fan rotating above our head is safe. The design can be further improved for aesthetics. In terms of feasibility of the concept I have been researching about this specific type of fire extinguisher which is hung from a ceiling and after preparing the designs I have found it is fully feasible concept. I am attaching a few videos which demonstrate the feasibility & effectiveness of a fire extinguisher hung from a ceiling. My proposed product uses a similar product but the design is much more effective and comes with multi purpose usage and with aesthetics of a lamp shade. The product is refillable. The installation is as simple as installing a ceiling fan, recommended one per room the size depends of Flying saucer tornado depends on the size of the room. Please note that the cost estimation of above was done based on retail price of fire extinguishers, LED bulbs, battery, nozzles & casing in the market but if mass manufactured inhouse by Allianz there is lot of scope for further reduction in price.
