Imagine your on vacation or out of town and there's a fire in your textile company. You'll probably be informed about it if you're lucky within 20 to 30 minutes from an employee or the police but at that point it's a bit late to reverse the damage. What if we could be informed of a fire within a few seconds or minutes? Well, I believe that can be accomplished using today's IOT enabled prototyping boards and there web services. My project will involve creating an autonomous fire alarm panel which will inform the fire department of a fire immediately by making an emergency call, inform simultaneously the owner of the business and the insurance company via an app of the impending danger. Information on when the fire started and when it ended will also be stored in the cloud for further analysis by the insurance company.
