Smart thermal camera for fire detection

Infrared thermal cameras attached to machinery and equipment. Never let the fire happen!

Description

40 % of all fires are caused by common electrical hazards! With a smart thermal camera attached to the machinery in the textile industry, one can pro-actively prevent a fire. Basically, once the device is attached, it detects critical heating conditions. The built-in fire alert algorithm analyzes environmental data and triggers an alarm if needed. This could either be the company internal fire department or the responsible machine operator. The devices and the complementary software are cloud-based so the alert could even be sent out via a push notification to smartphones. AI-BASED DETECTION ALGORITHM Coming back to the algorithm: If Allianz can manage to integrate such a solution at a variety of their customers, the generated data can be used as the training set to make the detection algorithm even more precise, become more reliable and detect fires even earlier (because machinery and environmental influences differ from country to country). REAL-TIME MONITORING The thermal cameras I attached are only an example of what is possible and they exist within a variety of price ranges. Almost all of them allow for real-time monitoring. SUMMARY With this cloud-based camera solution, companies can proactively prevent a fire. As thermal, infrared cameras are significantly lowered in price, they could be produced at very attractive cost. Furthermore, as more customers adopt the technology, it will get more reliable and more precise with every piece of data that is gathered.
